For convenience or scheduling purposes, some students choose to take courses offered on an abbreviated schedule called 'block classes'. These classes typically last for half the semester (about 7 weeks) and usually meet every day during that time.
The maximum number of credits students may earn at BYU-Idaho is 80 credit hours for an associate degree and 140 credit hours for a bachelor degree. Students wishing to continue at BYU-Idaho must justify exceeding the 80-credit or 140-credit limit through a petition submitted to the Academic Standards Committee.

Auditing a Course Students must first register for the class for credit and then contact the Student Records and Registration Office by email at registration@byui.edu to change the course to audit. Tuition for audit classes is assessed on the same basis as for credit classes.
“F” represents failure in the course. • “W” represents a withdrawal from the class. However, if the class is dropped during the first 22 calendar days (in- cluding weekends and holidays) of a semester, or the first 15 calendar days of a block, no annotation will be made on the permanent academic record.
A letter grade of a D is technically considered passing because it not a failure. A D is any percentage between 60-69%, whereas a failure occurs below 60%.

How do I enroll in the online class? You may enroll in a BYU Online course the same way as you would any other course offered on campus. Using MyMap, find the course you'd like to take, then click "Add" next to the BYU Online section.
Students may use a BYU course in which they receive a D- ("minimum passing") to complete major, minor, religion, or general education requirements.
