Copying a Canvas Course
How do I copy a Canvas course into a new course shell? Open Settings. In Course Navigation, click the Settings link. Copy Course Content. Create Course Details. Select Migration Content. Adjust Events and Due Dates.
Locate the assignment you want to duplicate and click the Options icon [1]. Click the Duplicate link [2].

If you see arrows, then this means it is a folder, containing further individual items to select, or another nested folder with content inside to select. You can click on the arrows to expand them, and select only items you need. See screenshot example below.
If you want to keep most of your prior course contents, then it makes sense to select all content. You can always make small adjustments later.
As you type, courses that you have access to will appear in a list. Or, you can use the arrow to view a list of your courses by term.

Note: it is not necessary to adjust the due dates at this time. You could adjust them one at a one afterward if desired.
Verify that the content has copied correctly. Adjust your assignment dates as needed.

All items in the assignment are duplicated including the name, description, point value, and options, except for the following situations: Copied peer review assignments retain the peer review setting and Assign Review date, but the number of reviews per user will be set to zero.
To import all content from the course, select the All Content radio button [1]. If you want to select specific content, click the Select specific content radio button [2]. Note: If you select the specific content option, you are required to select the content you want to import after you review the remaining page options.
Importing a course more than once may have unintended consequences. If you import content into a new course, edit the content in the new course, and later import the previous content again, the imported content will override the existing content.
You can copy course content such as assignments, modules, pages, and discussions from previous Canvas courses into existing courses.
