How to Duplicate a Moodle Course
For each item you wish to copy, click Edit, then select Duplicate. Duplicate resources or activities appear immediately below the original. Use the Mass Actions block to select and duplicate items directly into the new empty section. See The Mass Actions Block in Moodle.
From the dashboard, go to the Site Administration and to the course you want to duplicate. See the path here below. Dashboard -> Site Administration -> Courses -> Manage categories and courses Click on the course to duplicate from the ‘Manage categories and courses’. When you click on the course, you get the options about it.
You just create a csv file with your new course long name, short name, start date etc (follow documentation on that) and then have a template column where you reference the short name of the course that you want to copy. Moodle then copies all the course content to your new courses in the background while you drink coffee.

Definately noticed that about the quizes, and that may also be true for lesson questions. I seem to recall trying to do an edit in my localMoodle and the teacher could not go in and change a lesson question.
I am trying to duplicate a live course, I want to copy the content of my 26 week course to week 27, hence a new course with the same content as week 1..
It would really be nice to have a feature to "duplicate" a course easily, instead of going through the course "backup/restore" or "import" process... just like how we could duplicate a resource in a course right now in Moodle 2.x... Wow, Judy, what you describe is exactly what I need. I am teaching courses on the Astrological Lunation Cycle. Briefly, there are 4 lesson sections, each dedicated to a major phase of the Moon: New, 1st Quarter, Full, and Last Quarter. So I need courses with assignments, etc.

New feature in Moodle 3.9! In Moodle 3.9 onwards, administrators, managers and those with the relevant capabilities can quickly copy courses from a course category or within a course.
