If there are no gold stars then Canvas will display all courses listed within above the Past Enrollments section. Following the steps above in Add Classes for your current courses will result in the unwanted class not appearing in your Dashboard. Unfortunately, we don’t delete courses from Canvas.
However, if you are a student in the course, it will need to say yes under the Published column [Purple box]. In addition, Canvas includes tools tips to describe certain thing on the screen. Hovering your mouse over the stars will tell you why you can or cannot star a course.
Hello and welcome to the Canvas Community! To address your question, students are not able to delete their enrollment status in courses. You would need to contact the instructor or an administrator for the institution to request the removal.

If you choose to drop a class after the drop deadline, it is considered “withdrawing” from a class. Click the User Menu link [1]. Then click the Student Dashboard option [2]
In the Student Dashboard, you can view your current, completed, and not completed listings.
Locate the course or program and click the Settings icon [1]. Click the Drop Course or Program link [2].
Catalog will confirm you want to drop the course or program. Click the Drop button.
Removing a course from the Dashboard simply removes it from that view, it will not remove it from the all courses page.
Unfortunately, we don’t delete courses from Canvas. We recommend unpublishing the course or simply following the directions above to remove it from your Dashboard.
