The Scholarship Committee will begin reviewing Mississippi residents with a minimum of 20 ACT (1030 SAT) and 3.0 GPA. The Committee will review non-residents with a minimum of 22 ACT (1100 SAT) and 3.0 GPA. Students must enroll as full-time students in the semester in which the award is received.

We are excited that you have chosen Jones! Individuals that have not yet attended Jones for college credit should visit the Enrollment Services section of the website. Future students are strongly encouraged to follow the checklist for admissions. This ensures all necessary paperwork is complete before classes begin.
New students should begin the registration process by completing an Application for Admission. Once your admissions application has been processed, students will receive an Admissions Packet as well as an email and text from their Admissions Counselor.
Students are not eligible for any federal financial aid at Jones College after completing 150% of the time normally required to complete their program of study, not to exceed 96 hours attempted, regardless of GPA, cumulative hours earned, or change of program. In addition, hours attempted when the student did not receive financial aid will also be calculated according to satisfactory academic progress requirements.
Priority Date. The Financial Aid Priority Date for Jones College is generally April 1, each year. Information must be processed by the federal office, and all necessary paperwork must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by this date.
Title IV (TIV) federal aid recipients are awarded financial aid during the enrolled semester on the assumption they will remain in the course (s) for the entire semester for which the funds were awarded. In the event that a student withdrawals from ALL courses during the semester, the college will process a Return to Title IV (R2T4) calculation.
Incomplete Grades. Incomplete grades that are assigned with a letter grade of “I” must be completed within six weeks of the end of the semester. If the “I” is not changed after the six-week period, the incomplete grade will be considered an “F” grade when reviewing the SAP standards.

Students have the option to file a grievance with the Mississippi Commission on College Accreditation. The complaint process applies to conduct or behavior on the part of a Mississippi institution or any of its agents, representatives or employees that constitutes dishonest or fraudulent behavior, including providing false or misleading information to a student; and operation of programs (including distance education) contrary to practices expected by institutional and/or programmatic/specialized accreditors. This process does not apply to complaints related to student grades or discipline/conduct matters.

You should drop classes before adding classes. Carefully check to see if the class you want to add is still open before making the schedule changes. If the section you wish to add is closed, you will not be able to enroll and will risk losing a seat in the section of the class you intend to drop.

Students may withdraw from a course by processing an add/drop form during regular office hours through the Registration Office at Main Campus, Romeoville Campus, or by phone at (815) 744-2200. Please note the drop dates listed on your bill/student schedule. Every course has its own drop date.
A general petition provides students the option to appeal for a late refund, tuition credit, and or a late withdrawal due to extenuating circumstances. If extenuating circumstances exist a student may submit a General Petition Form .
Refunds for short-term or specialized classes may vary; consult your schedule/bill. Non-attendance does not constitute a drop in a course nor qualify you for a refund. No refunds will be granted when a student is dismissed or suspended from the college for disciplinary reasons.
