Copy an entire D2L course. Follow these directions to copy an existing course or development/template: Click on the Search button (magnifying glass icon) to see the list of courses that you have access to and select the course you want to copy and click Add Selected. Note: Make sure you select the right course to copy.
To see details for course components, click the Show the current course components link, then click the View Detail icon beside a component to see existing items. For those course components that provide the option to include associated files, D2L recommends leaving the option turned on. Click Continue.
To copy between courses in D2L Brightspace you pull from the Source Course to the Destination Course. Go into the Destination Course. Use Import / Export / Copy Components in the Destination Course to pull in the materials you want from the Source Course. Go to the course homepage of the Destination Course. Click on " ⚙ " in the navigation bar.
Course packages from other Learning Management Systems can be imported into D2L. The Learning Management System from which the package comes must produce an IMS CP or QTI (if importing quizzes) compliant course package. This will be a zipped file folder.

Student Data. Student data is not copied from one course to another; only the course structures are copied. For example, if a Discussion topic is copied, only the prompt and discussion settings are copied, not the individual student posts.
In general, course components already in the destination course will not be affected by copying course components. The only course component that can be overwritten is a course file, i.e., HTML pages that have been created in the course site or files that have been uploaded to it.
If copying linked or associated components, e.g., files attached to a Submission folder or the HTML files for pages that have been created, all of the related components must be copied at the same time.
In the following instructions: The Destination Course is the shell into which you want to copy materials. The Source Course is the shell that already contains the materials you want to copy.
