The Canvas course site is not yet published by the instructor. A course site isn't visible to students until the instructor manually publishes the Canvas site. If the semester/term has already started and you are definitely registered for the course, contact your instructor and ask them to publish the course.Aug 24, 2021
To put it simply, the “lock” icon means that Canvas won't give you the option to calculate your overall grade. If you'd like to do so, you'll need to use sources like Roger Hub to calculate grades, or you can do it manually but the former is more convenient to use.Oct 11, 2020

According the 7th edition of the Publication Manual, the way you cite course content depends on the audience of your paper. If the audience can access the sources in Brightspace or other online learning system, you will cite according to the type of resource (book, journal, PowerPoint slides, etc.).

Course materials should generally not be used as a source for assignments. Try and find another source which makes a similar point to your course materials instead of using it as a source.
