Being an average student, how difficult would be Andrew Ng’s Machine Learning course for me? In my honest opinion, it is slightly on a tougher side and requires one to have pre-existing knowledge of several concepts of ML and AI.

This course provide a lot of basic knowledge for anyone who don't know machine learning still learn. Once again, I would like to say thank to Professor Andrew Ng and all Mentor. Excellent starting course on machine learning. Beats any of the so called programming books on ML.
Andrew Ng mentions that around 1.8 million students have enrolled in his Machine Learning class on Coursera since 2011. It isn't mentioned anywhere as to how many completed it though it's probably safe to assume that around 20% completed it, that brings it to 360,000 students.

Andrew Ng's Machine Learning course on Coursera is not 100 years old. It is as relevant today as it was 5 years back. However, it is possible that it is not the best suitable for you at this stage.
