What is the difficulty level of an MCA course?

MCA is a PG course whereas it does not contain branches like btech.all u have to do is through computer programming,logics. the level of difficulty depends upon ur interest.

How long is the general ship knowledge (GSK) course?

What is the benefit of doing an MCA course?

MCA is a post graduate program. If you plan to move to canada or other country then you have chances to get more score for visa rating. Even non computers background can opt for it. You can clear your concepts and practice more which you could not in your graduation program or want to start from scratch.

Is an MCA degree as good as a BE degree?

Yes, to answer your question, a MCA degree might not be as efficient and good like a BE or BTech degree, but there are people who cannot afford to get a good college seat in BE / BTech. Most students whom I interact are ones who have got a less score in their PU/equivalent exams.

General Ship Knowledge (OOW Yachts)

If you’re working towards your OOW (Yachts) certification, you will be required to complete this MCA-approved module. This course will help you develop an in-depth knowledge of on-board systems.

About the course

The General Ship Knowledge (OOW Yachts) course provides an introduction to ship construction, stresses and corrosion, transverse stability, reverse buoyancy and damage control, meteorology and seamanship, watchkeeping, preparation for sea, and maintenance.

ADVANCED POWERBOAT COC EXAM PREP AIMS

Having completed the RYA Powerboat Advanced Course, you may wish to take the MCA / RYA Advanced Powerboat Certificate of Competence. This exam is intended for advanced drivers who wish to work commercially with open powerboats.

ADVANCED POWERBOAT COC EXAM PREP DURATION

This package spans three days. We need 4 to 5 hours of daylight and 3 to 4 hours of darkness each day so exact timings vary depending on the season. As an example, December courses run 1200 to 2030 each day and summer courses will start and finish later.

ADVANCED POWERBOAT COC EXAM PREP COURSE CONTENT

During the exam, candidates will be tested on their night pilotage and navigation skills as well as boat handling and supporting knowledge. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate that they are competent skippers.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

In order to then commercially endorse this qualification, skippers will also need a RYA Sea Survival Certificate , a Seafarers Medical from a doctor and a RYA PPR certificate. The RYA then charge you a commercial endorsement fee.

IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?

This training course and exam is specifically aimed at the commercial sector (i.e. those wanting to drive powerboats for a living). The Advanced Certificate of Competence will qualify you as skipper (master) of powerboats up to 24m in length, up to 20 nm from a safe haven and to carry up to 12 passengers.
