Nov 19, 2021 · Starting in Canvas course you wish to copy materials into, click " Settings " in your course navigation bar. Click on the " Course Details " tab across the top. Click " Import Course Content " on the right-hand side. From the " Content Type " drop down menu, select " Copy a Canvas Course ." Complete the "Import Content" form that appears.

The Canvas Course Import tool can be used to copy specific course content or entire courses from previous terms and quickly import them into existing courses. Important Note: Before using the course import tool, you must be enrolled in both the course you want to copy to, as well as the course you want to copy from.
Once you have selected the correct course to copy from , you can move on to the content settings section where you can specify whether to include All content if you are copying the entire course from one semester to another, or you can choose to Select specific content only if you want to copy certain items.

Copied courses are added to the same subaccount as the course that is copied. As an instructor, you can copy individual announcements in one course directly into any active course in which you are enrolled . You can also send announcements to other instructors at your institution.
Announcements that have already been posted do not send notifications to users in the course where the announcement is sent. Announcements that include a delay posting date retain that date and send notifications when the announcement is posted.
