You can also use the command b hot key menu key command to run the Erase menu command which erases the canvas to your current default erase to option. So using this menu key command is the equivalent of clicking on the eraser button. There are a number of different erase to options. White and Black set the canvas to solid white or solid black.
Hello and welcome to the Canvas Community! To address your question, students are not able to delete their enrollment status in courses. You would need to contact the instructor or an administrator for the institution to request the removal.
Now using the Course Navgiation menu, go to the course settings page. Once you get there, look at the bottom right side of the page (see below). Click the link to delete your course. If you are a Canvas admin, you can delete the course manually (see above), or through SIS import using a CSV file.

Once student interaction on your course is no longer needed (only viewing), setting an end date will manually 'archive' your course and remove it from your, and your students', dashboards. The course will still be accessible in archive format by clicking on courses and viewing Past enrolments.

Removing a course from the Dashboard simply removes it from that view, it will not remove it from the all courses page.
Unfortunately, we don’t delete courses from Canvas. We recommend unpublishing the course or simply following the directions above to remove it from your Dashboard.
Once you delete a course, the course will be completely removed from your institution's account and will not be viewable by you, prior students, or the account administrator.
If you only want to remove the course from Courses & Groups in the Global Navigation, you can change the course end date, or if you have permission, conclude your course instead. Before you delete your course, make sure you have a record of your Course ID number.

After you are logged into Canvas, go to the course you would like to publish. Upon selecting the course, you should be brought to its Home page.
If you would like to hide a course from your students, but do not want to end the course, you can do the following:
Ending your course will make the course unavailable for participation, but students and instructors will still be able to view it.
Deleting a course will permanently delete it, so it is important to be absolutely sure you would like to do this.
Once the student removes the course, their enrollment in the Canvas course will be automatically removed within 2 hours.
After the close of the add/drop, there is a flexible grace period † to allow registrars to work through any paper-based enrollment changes. Once the registrar's office completes that work, extraneous visitor enrollments will be removed automatically. Announcements are posted within Canvas and on the Canvas login page when visitor removal will occur.
