Removing a course from the Dashboard simply removes it from that view, it will not remove it from the all courses page.

Deleting a Canvas Course

Unfortunately, we don’t delete courses from Canvas. We recommend unpublishing the course or simply following the directions above to remove it from your Dashboard. ​​​​​​​

After you are logged into Canvas, go to the course you would like to publish. Upon selecting the course, you should be brought to its Home page.

If you would like to hide a course from your students, but do not want to end the course, you can do the following:

Ending your course will make the course unavailable for participation, but students and instructors will still be able to view it.

Deleting a course will permanently delete it, so it is important to be absolutely sure you would like to do this.

Once the student removes the course, their enrollment in the Canvas course will be automatically removed within 2 hours.

What happens after the add drop?

After the close of the add/drop, there is a flexible grace period † to allow registrars to work through any paper-based enrollment changes. Once the registrar's office completes that work, extraneous visitor enrollments will be removed automatically.
