'W's on a transcript simply means you withdrew from a class after a certain date during the semester. And that date usually follows the last day you can drop classes without a grade. Make sure you know what date that is. One of the benefits of a 'W' is that it will not be calculated into your GPA.
If you drop or withdraw from classes, you may jeopardize future eligibility for student aid (including loans). If your enrollment drops below half-time, your financial aid awards may be adjusted, and the grace period repayment of loans will begin.
Repeating a Course If you earn a D or an F in a class numbered from 000-299, then you may repeat the course. The lower grade earned will remain on your transcript but will not be counted in your KU GPA. The course repeat policy may not be used more than five times.
