As the 2021-22 school year comes to an end, Kindergarten – 12th grade students can now enroll in Florida Virtual School (FLVS) Full Time for the upcoming 2022-23 school year. The enrollment deadline is July 15, giving families the time they need to make the decision that works best for them.
Typical students complete the course in 4-6 weeks working approximately 2-3 hours per week. Students can arrange an accelerated schedule with their teacher and finish nearer the two-week mark. Extended schedules are also available if needed.

FLVS Flex allows students to take one or more online courses anytime during the year. It is open to homeschool students who want to customize their own schedule and curriculum or traditional students who take the majority of their courses at a public or private school.
Attendance Requirements FLVS Full Time: Students are required to attend the Class Time live teacher instruction three days per week. FLVS Flex: Although attendance of Class Time live teacher instruction is not required, it is strongly recommended that they attend at least two sessions per week.
FLVS Full Time As a comprehensive and fully accredited online high school, it follows the typical school year (from August to June) and becomes the primary school of record for students who enroll.

Does FLVS issue diplomas or GEDs? FLVS Flex homeschool students are not eligible to receive a diploma or GED directly from FLVS. However, students enrolled in FLVS Full Time do graduate with a diploma.

It is the policy of FLVS Global School that students and parent/guardian complete a Welcome Call with the instructor of every enrolled course in the first several days of enrollment. Instructors will call and email, using the information provided by students and parent/guardian at registration, to attempt to complete this communication.
Formative assessments in a course may include: worksheets, written compositions, lab reports, short answer paragraphs, essays, book responses, graded discussion board posts, and other assessments that require teacher evaluation of the student’s work. While infrequent situational deviation may occur at an Instructional Leader’s discretion, FLVS Global School limits the number of total attempts to three on the formative assessments mentioned above. Summative assessment submissions will be limited to one. Exceptions may be made in certain situations if determined appropriate by the instructional team.
Based on content, some courses have longer seat time policies. Consistent submission of assessments will ensure the student is engaged and learning. This policy provides students the opportunity to receive ongoing feedback and remediation while demonstrating their learning through several required checkpoints.
To ensure adequate time for comprehension and mastery, students must work in a course segment consistently for a minimum 14 days starting from the date of first submission (not including pretests). 28 days of work is required, at minimum, for a two-segment course.
Students entering high school grades 9-12 have access to Advanced Placement courses that may result in earning college credit for high school coursework. These courses are used to calculate overall Grade Point Average (GPA) and typically count extra in the calculation.
Our goal is to make this process as easy as possible. A parent or guardian must email Global School at globalschool@flvs.net within the grace period. The grace period is defined as 14 days active or less than 15% complete, whichever occurs first. Once we receive the notification, we will process a refund less a $75 administrative fee for any active segment (s). If the student is not currently active in a segment and we receive a request for withdrawal, a full refund will be given. Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of receipt. The refund will be applied back to the original form of payment. Please realize it can take several days for the refunded amount to appear in your account.
For whatever reason, if you are not satisfied with Global School you can request a refund. As long as you have not completed any course assignments or tests within the 14-day grace period, you will receive a full refund.
FGlobal School will enroll students ages 5 through 19. Elementary students must be age 5 on or before October 1st to enroll. Students must be 6 on or before October 1st to enroll in Grade 1 courses. Maximum ages for elementary students may apply; please email globalschool@flvs.net if you have specific questions.
Virtual School Administrator (VSA) is a platform used to house student records and enrollment. Students access courses by logging in to VSA using credentials created during registration. Authorized administrators can access assigned student’s records, progress and various types of reports for their school and district via VSA.
Elementary-aged students can take middle or high school level courses with Global School. The student will have a maximum of 27 weeks per segment to complete their course. Please refer to “Is there an age limit?” for more information.
The student’s age on the date of the course enrollment (that is, the date on which a complete registration or course request for a course semester is made) may not be older than 19. Students must complete all coursework, including the final exam, before their 21st birthday. Exceptional education students who have not earned a standard diploma remain eligible for educational services through the end of the school year in which they become 22 years old.
