Hi all. I wanted some opinions on how golf courses charge and how you look at it.

Golf is expensive enough as it is. What are some ways to avoid having to pay fees to book a tee time? It seems like its an illusion that golfnow and related sites are offering "discounted" tee times yet charging you fees that add up to more than you would normally pay.

Either take one of the above suggestions or book enough rounds that you avoid the fee! I've booked "hot deal" rounds at a local course that would normally charge in the mid 30's for 10 bucks plus fee, which equals about 13 bucks! What's the problem?
If there is a course that you like then strike up a conversation with the people behind the counter. Ask about the difference in price between online and calling and see if they would be happy to give you the better rate since you are interested in playing there sometimes.
However, I booked a 3some Hotdeal for Saturday and had to cancel 1 slot.
I've not been thru a cancellation but they say on their website you can cancel.
I'll even just open the app and show the guy at the counter and say - can you match it?
Vert disappointed with GolfNow. They make it very difficult to take advantage of discounts. One way is to advertise a 'Hot Deal' but when you go to book it you must have a foursome. Sometimes I'm golfing alone and don't expect to find a 'Hot Deal' for a single golfer. Plus discounts have all kinds of conditions so it is impossible to get one.
Only thing its good for is finding a tee time, from there I recommend going directly to the course site to book. DO NOT GET THE GOLF PASS. There are no real perks, even their "hot deals" are just a couple dollars off to offset the booking price.
Haven't been disappointed with any of my bookings through Golf Now. They do a great job offering deals and clear descriptions and ratings of the courses.
Ease of reservation, choices of date/time and service and quality at course are reasons I will continue to use GolfNow
I used Golf Now and found Heritage Ranch in Fairview.#N#The price was right and I booked for 3. Another person#N#joined at the course. This is. beautiful golf course.#N#Wide open fairways, well maintained. Greens were in good shape. Very fast. They had sanded the week before but playable. I love this course.
The booking process was effortless, the confirmation was quick and the reception at the golf course was thumbs up.
I wish they had negative stars! Golfnow is horrible! Their customer service sucks! Will not give refunds for rain, I canceled my reservations prior to my reservations because of the rain chances were high. It rained all day the day before and more rain was expected the next day due to a storm in the gulf. Golf now refused to refund my money.
This is up to the discretion of each golf course and its own booking policy. In most instances, tee times are available at least 7 days out, and more typically 14 to 30 days.
Yes, although changing the time and or date may affect your green fees. You must cancel the entire reservation then rebook (not necessarily in that order). If you do not provide at least a 24-hour notice, however, you will lose any booking deposits from the original reservation.
You can manage your reservations under the ‘Reservation History’ tab under your Golfpay account menu. It will display your upcoming reservations and provides you a button to cancel. If you are past the cancellation window of 24 or 48 hours, then please contact the course directly to cancel your reservation.
Unless they are “Internet Specials”, individual golf courses make their own policies, however, typically there are no refunds unless you make a separate arrangement with the golf course to get a refund. Contact the golf course directly for more information.
All special offers are NON-REFUNDABLE. Rainchecks are available in the case of unplayable conditions or if you provide at least a 24-hour notice.
Online deposits albeit a small amount greatly reduce no shows, which ultimately increases tee time availability for everyone.
If you cancel at least 24 hours in advance, your booking deposit will be automatically credited to your credit card used in the transaction in question. Deposits are refunded if course conditions prevent you from playing.
