General Information for Curse

Allow the players to damage Ghosts without using a Transient Curse and block attacks from ghosts when using two-handed or left-handed cursed weapon.

If the game is played online, you can see other players' bodies that have been cursed in the same location.

Overview

Usually found in the form of a cloud of mist, Curse will slowly build-up in a player. As Curse is inflicted repeatedly, the status bar will continue to increase until it fills up, at which point immediate death occurs. This is the only instance where the Ring of Sacrifice cannot prevent the loss of souls upon death.

Sources

The most well known source of this status effect is the Basilisk 's cloud breath attack. Additionally, the two Deep Accursed found in the Cathedral of the Deep and Anor Londo inflict Curse buildup with every attack. The stationary Pus of Man that inhabit the Wyverns in Lothric Castle can expel Curse-inflicting projectiles from their mouths.

What happens when you get assaulted by those who cause the curse?

When assaulted by those who cause Curse buildup, the Curse meter gradually fills in a similar manner to that of Poison. Once filled, instant death occurs, leaving behind a statue, and the player returns to the last bonfire rested at.

Does Divine Blessing cure curses?

Unlike curing most other negative status effects, Divine Blessing does not cure Curse or its buildup. Equipping a Rare Ring of Sacrifice while already cursed, then dying will not cure the cursed status either. Using a Purging Stone both cures Curse and reduces its buildup to zero.

You need all of the Dark Sigils to unlock the Usurpation of Fire ending.

If you don't receive the five Sigils before Yoel dies, you won't get Yuria of Londor to appear in your Firelink.
