Requesting Class Permission Begin by logging into SIS at case.edu/sis with your CWRU Network ID and password. To request class permission, first either attempt to enroll in the class or add the class to the shopping cart, then validate it.
Students who wish to add or drop a course that requires consent will need to request a Consent Required permission through SIS. Class is Closed. You will need to request permission from the instructor of the course through SIS. (See Request Class Permission for instructions.) If the instructor chooses to allow you into the course, then the instructor will grant the permission for you and you will receive a notification email.
From the Staff Home page, click the Admin Class Permissions tile. Choose Case Class Permissions (Add) to review requests from students who are attempting to add a class or Case Class Permissions (Drop) to review requests from students attempting to drop a class. Select the term for the permission requests to be reviewed.

The Career Restriction permission type occurs when attempting to take a course which is offered by another school at CWRU which does not allow students outside of its school to enroll. For example, a Law student may attempt to enroll in an undergraduate course which would require a career restriction permission.

Academic Advisement Report Substitution Form – Use this form to request a correction or course substitution on your Academic Advisement Report. Have form reviewed by your advisor and send to the Dean assigned to your alphabetical cohort, determined by the first letter of your last name (N. DiIulio= A-Ho; A. McCarthy= Hp-Ph; D. Poulos= Pi-Z).
Application for Graduation – Use this online form to apply for graduation through SIS (currently closed). If you need to apply for graduation and the online SIS form has closed, you will need to complete a paper Graduation Application and submit to ugstudies@case.edu.
Off-campus Study Request Form – Use this form to request approval to take a course off-campus. Prior approval is required in order for transfer credit to be granted. Send to ugstudies@case.edu.
Visiting Undergraduate Student Fall/Spring Application – Use this form to apply to be a transient/visiting student at CWRU during the fall or spring semester. Send to ugstudies@case.edu.
For the first two semesters of enrollment, matriculated students who are beginning their college studies may withdraw from a course at any time during the semester, but no later than the last day of classes. Any course for which a grade of W is assigned will be deleted from the transcript at the end of the semester.
The normal full-time load is 14-17 credit-hours during the fall or spring semester. Students ordinarily may not enroll in more than 19 credit-hours in a semester. Continuing students may enroll for 20-21 credit-hours in a semester if they have a cumulative grade point average of 3.200 or better.
A student may audit a course with the consent of the course instructor and the approval of their navigator in Student Advancement. An auditor receives no credit for the course. At the beginning of the course, the student and instructor should reach agreement regarding the requirements to be met for a grade of AD.
To facilitate planning, all courses (including ROTC, varsity sports, and music ensembles) should post, to the extent possible, the full set of meeting times in the Student Information System (SIS) before students register for their courses.
