*Registration is open through the first day of classes for each session! You may take summer courses with CSI if you have permission from your home institution. Please complete the online visiting and non degree application and submit any necessary documentation, such as transcripts or permits from your home institution.
For graduation in the spring or summer, we begin accepting applications as of January 2 and the deadline to apply is March 1st for spring and summer. Students are responsible for adhering to the dates below for canceling or withdrawing from Summer courses. Withdrawal deadlines are broken down by section. Visit the Schedule of Classes to determine the section of your course. Please note, withdrawals are completed by the Registrar's Office either in person, by phone, or by email.
Drop and Withdraw deadlines for non-standard courses can be found on the student's schedule in MyCSI. In order to withdraw from one or more courses, a completed Add/Drop/Withdraw form is required, which can be found in MyCSI or at the Office of the Registrar.

You can withdraw from a course during the first three weeks of the semester for a partial refund of your tuition. Between the third week of the semester and the withdrawal deadline, you may withdraw from a course and receive a "W" on your transcript, which will not impact your GPA.

Undergraduate students are permitted to register for up to 18 credits per term in the fall and spring and up to 14 credits during a summer term, not to exceed 7 credits in any one summer session. Students can take one course in the winter session.
Failing & Then Re-Taking a Class Croskey notes that dropping a class is better than withdrawing, but withdrawing is better than failing. “A failing grade will lower the student's GPA, which may prevent a student from participating in a particular major that has a GPA requirement,” Croskey says.
Federal regulations require you to repay a portion of financial aid funds if you withdraw from all classes before satisfying the 60 percent completion rule for the enrollment term. (See the current 60 percent dates for the financial aid award year.)
Withdrawing from a class could affect your financial aid if it means you are no longer making “satisfactory academic progress.” Each college defines satisfactory academic progress differently, but wherever you go to school, you must maintain it to keep receiving financial aid.
We encourage you to have your class schedule finalized before the first day of classes. Registration prior to the first day of classes can be completed through your MYCSI or by submitting an add/drop form to the Office of the Registrar.
If you decide you do not want to receive credit for a class you are taking, you have the option to Audit. Submit an add form with the box for “audit” checked to the Office of the Registrar. You may also send an email to [email protected], but be sure to include your Name, ID number, class and section, and requested term.
To apply for visiting student status, fill out an online form. Alternatively, you may fill out a Visiting Student Application at the Office of the Registrar, room 2A-107.
A: Students who have earned at least 30 credits may take up to 18 credits in a given semester unless one of the following conditions applies: If your GPA is 3.1-3.49, and you have completed at least 30 credits at CSI, you may register for up to 20 credits in the fall or spring semester.
You are also required to complete half of the total credits required for you major and 30 credits at CSI for residency.
All students are limited to a maximum of 9 credits in the summer semester consisting of two courses plus PED 190. All students are limited to a maximum of one class in the winter semester. Students wishing to take credits beyond the limits listed above will require special permission.
There are three graduations terms a year; spring (degree is posted on June 15), summer (degree is posted on August 31) and fall (degree is posted on January 15). Commencement is a ceremony held once a year for all candidates for graduation of that year. The commencement date is published in the spring college calendar.

Students with financial aid are advised to speak with the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships before dropping a course. Students living in campus housing are advised to speak with Housing if dropping below full-time.

Fee Payment Deadline: Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Students who have not paid all fees by the fee payment deadline are subject to having their entire schedule dropped.
