What can you do with a CLA MixHub?

What is an insert point in CLA Mixhub?

In CLA MixHub’s channel view, the insert point can be used for adding an additional Waves plugin to your MixHub’s chain, making it a one-stop solution for your entire mix.

What is the input section of Chris's console?

The input section handles high- and low-pass filtering and switchable harmonic distortion. The “line” control models the line amp in Chris’s console, adding light saturation. For more extreme drive, kick in the mic pre. This, in effect, is like running a line-level signal through the console’s microphone preamp.

how to make my reverbs less apparent

I'm struggling to make my reverbs less apparent. Compared to professional, I can still hear my reverbs instead of feeling them like in professional mix

Does bus compression on the mix get in the way of other mastering processes?

I'm a bit precious about my 2-buss compression so I often send tracks to master with it applied. However, I know a lot of mastering engineers ask for a clear mix buss. Is this becaus there are things that compression does that get in the way of other mastering processes they may want to apply?

Looking for an in-depth intermediated - advanced mixing book for serious learning

Hi, I've been posting this question everywhere, but all the recommendation I got is really beginner stuff from Bobby Owniski - Mixing Engineer Handbooks, or Mixing Engineer Secret - SOS. These books are great, they explain stuff clearly, but they focus too much on the basic of mixing; which I already knew, or at least been using without knowing.

When doing the Car Test (or anything similar) do you throw a limiter on your mix first?

If you render your unmastered mix, put it on your phone or a cd, take it into the car, play it on your bluetooth speaker, or whatever else, do you throw a limiter on it first to get an idea of what it may sound like mastered on those speakers?

Audio Legends Course 1 Videos

I like how the video series gets right to the point with Chris Lord Alge discussing how and why he made certain mix decisions for each instrument.

Who Will Benefit from the Audio Legends Courses?

For beginners, I think the most important thing about this course is just seeing how someone else organizes and prepares a mix for optimal workflow, including bussing tracks to effects and parallel processing.

How much is Audio Legends Course 1 with Chris Lord Alge?

There’s a special introductory rate going on right now with three different ways to purchase. To make the most use of this course, you’ll need Slate’s Everything Bundle, which includes all of the Slate Digital plugins used.
