Advanced… How to change my culture ? I haven't played CK2 in a long time but if I remember correctly you could've change your culture if your capital province is a different culture to the one of your character ( in my case my char is Bolghar and my capital is Bulgarian).

An army and battle | Military Crusader Kings 2 Guide. Every county generates some amount of troops. Its quantity you can increase thanks to proper buildings (look at: Economy: Developing of lands and increasing incomes) and laws (Laws) but also human relations matter. The more vassals like you, the more army they'll send you.
Winning sieges and occupying enemy territory. Occupying enemy territory can give up to 120% warscore, with significant bonuses for the enemy's demesne (which tends to be easier to capture due to depleted levies), capital, and the territory contested by the CB. Occupying all enemy holdings gives automatic 100% warscore.
If you've just loaded troops onto ships, you can remove them manually by using the same embark button in the troop selector to unload them. When ships arrive at a friendly port, ships will automatically unload troops into the friendly county -- even if enemy forces are there!
Additionally, landing troops into combat gives the defenders a large defensive bonus (30%? double-check) against the amphibious assault.
Troops fight battles and perform sieges. They can be lost to attrition when not properly supplied.
Weaken the enemy further with raids. You can start raiding with a fully prepared army while they scramble to gather their levies.
It is possible to set game difficulty before start. It ranges from very easy to very hard and morale of both your levies and the AI is affected. Note that these are proportions relative to 1. As such, in Very Hard for instance, your armies will have 75% of their original morale, and your enemies' 150%, namely the double of your s. Defeating their armies will thus require armies which have twice their strength or more.
Crusader Kings is a historical grand strategy / RPG video game series for PC, Mac & Linux developed & published by Paradox Interactive. Engage in courtly intrigue, dynastic struggles, and holy warfare in mediæval Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, India, the steppes and Tibet. Can you achieve fame and fortune for your noble family, or will your names be forgotten to history?
To be honest though OP, you don't need to turn the difficulty down anyway; welcome to CK2. You've learned a vital lesson here that you should take to heart, because vassals rebelling is a third of the game. Warring against foreigners and scheming are the other two-thirds.
Secondly after you know how to play the game and feel comfortable, you need to understand that losing is fun. It's a hard concept for most gamers to understand but there are some games that 'winning' is not a possibility nor should it be the goal. This is especially true with Crusader Kings, it's always tempting to quit out and load an auto-save when something doesn't go your way but you have to understand that history has no do-overs and your decisions have consequences. In my games I try to enjoy the fascinating outcomes.
Anyone can build an empire, but the challenge is keeping it! Try not to stress out over the game, its kinda like dwarf fortress. Some of the most fun to be had is when things fall apart!
this was just epic. loved the tale of how your kingdom fell apart.

One added benefit is that if you switch culture, all of your children that aren't yet adults will switch culture with you automatically. Also, you'll find a few other family members and courtiers will switch culture with you independently to get into your graces.
To hire warriors, you need to click on the chosen province and choose the icon of recruitment . If you don't like clicking, you can send messages to all warriors in the kingdom, by choosing the icon of an army in the upper menu (screen above). But you have to remember that armies, that wander through the land, are less eager. Their leaders will lose respect to the ruler, what may end with a rebellion. The small land owners get upset the fastest, and the most patient are kings and dukes. But even there do not trust them: tired soldier is an unreliable one. So when the battle dust falls, send boys to their homes. They'll get calm and ready to the next campaign.
Second phase is a direct encounter between all troops and the third one is chasing the defeated enemy. Flanks inside the army can be manipulated.
For instance, if your enemy has bigger army it's not worth to send a lot of cavalry upon him, because its main usage is chase . It's better to bet on pikemen, light and heavy infantry and archers. In big number they should stand against enemy's rush and break his morale.
And knights orders are hired for piety points and can fight only against infidels (they decline fighting against believers of the same religion). Their big advantage is that they have no soldier's pay, if they're fighting on the heretic's land and you're a faith defender. Of course obvious flaws are recruiting only during crusades and jihads and that they're available only for catholics.
Every county generates some amount of troops. Its quantity you can increase thanks to proper buildings (look at: Economy: Developing of lands and increasing incomes) and laws ( Laws) but also human relations matter. The more vassals like you, the more army they'll send you. The good ruler should balance between subordinates' respect and number ...
You can divide your troops on three flanks before the battle, but it doesn't affect the course: it's better to keep them in one, strong wedge. Such solution solves also a problem of incompetent commanders. In the front of the flank the greatest generals from an army stands.
But remember, that they serve only for money and without the soldier's pay they'll rebel. That's why sometimes it's profitable to send your mercenaries on death as first ones.
