Instructors can see certain activity such as: time started/stopped an exam or quiz, total time spent on the exam/quiz, date/time stamps on assignments, time spent in the course and last login. Administrators can see everything down to page views, the dates and times each page was accessed and the browser you used.
In a normal assignment environment, Blackboard or Canvas cannot detect screen sharing or screenshots if a student is working on them using a normal browser. NOTE: The data coming from Canvas only tells us if a students has downloaded the file to their computer, device, or browser. It does not tell us if a student previews the document in Canvas.
Course-level roles are roles with permissions that allow a user course-level access. Usually users with these roles cannot see more than what is in their Canvas courses. This role is intended for captioners, ASL interpreters and others that may need access to the materials in a course without any other interactions. New courses are created as course shells that can host course content and enrollments for your institution. When you create a course from the Dashboard, you are automatically added to the course as an instructor. No other enrollments exist in the course, though you may be able to add users to a new course.
If your course name is longer than 21 characters, you can create a course code in the Short Name field [2]. If your course name is too short to create a Short Name, a short name will automatically be created for you.
The short name will be displayed at the top of the Course Navigation menu and in the course card in the dashboard. If you have permission to edit the course name, you may be able to change the course name and code later in Course Settings.
