View All Courses and Customize Your Dashboard
Instructors: Due to frequent requests, Canvas course shells automatically appear on instructor’s dashboards several terms before they begin. Course shells can be hidden from the dashboard as desired using the instructions below. [Red Box] Click the Courses menu item. [Red Box] Click All Courses.
If your institution allows, you can upload an image to display behind the course card in the Canvas Dashboard. Accepted images include JPG, JPEG, GIF, and PNG files. For best practice, images should be approximately 262 pixels wide by 146 pixels high. Images can also be added from Unsplash.
All your current, past, and future courses appear under the Courses page (click “Courses” on left then “All Courses” within Canvas). Since Auburn has no plans to remove Canvas courses, after almost seven years, some faculty may have numerous courses. The large number of courses can make searching for a specific course difficult.
Note: Canvas uses safe search filters provided by Unsplash. You can read more about the Unsplash content policy on their Terms page. View the image as it will be shown in the Dashboard course card. To manage the image, click the Options icon [1].
Within Canvas, click on Courses on the left to expand the Courses menu, then click “All Courses”. 2. This is your full course list, which includes current, past, and future courses. Click on the star to add a course to your dashboard– please note, only current courses may be starred.

A course site isn't visible to students until the instructor manually publishes the Canvas site. If the semester/term has already started and you are definitely registered for the course, contact your instructor and ask them to publish the course. You may have previously set your Courses List to show other courses.
20If you have never favorited any courses, only 20 (max) course cards will show on your dashboard (this limit is 10 within the mobile app). If you are then enrolled in new courses, this will remove some of the current courses from your dashboard, so there are never more than 20 at one time.

There is an easy way to add the courses you will be using during the semester, as well as removing the courses you won’t need to access as much. From the Canvas Dashboard, click the Courses button. The courses menu will fly out. Choose All Courses. Now that you are on the All Courses page, notice the star in front of each course name. ...
If you head back to the Dashboard, you’ll see that the courses that were starred are added.
