Jan 16, 2020 · You cannot archive your old courses, but you can remove them from your Dashboard and from your Favorites Courses list. Once in the All Courses list, simply un-star any courses you no longer wish to see on your Dashboard and default course list. Aug 21, 2019 · Jump to solution. @tirnanog20 , Welcome to the Canvas Community! There are a couple of ways of doing this and some require more permissions than others. If you just want to remove the course from your Dashboard and Courses tab, you can deselect the star for that specific course.

@dufay_k , go to the course and click on People. You should see a gear icon by your name. If you click on the gear icon then you'll get the option to "remove from course." Archived course sites are not deleted or removed. Everything in the course site - all course content, quizzes, student submissions, grades, rubrics, assignment comments etc. - is preserved.

If you wish to organize your All Courses page and remove a course from it, you can quickly do so by archiving it. Archiving a course moves it to the Archived page of your account, but does not prevent you from accessing it.Mar 23, 2022
When you archive a course, the system creates a ZIP file of the course content, user interactions, and submission receipts called an archive package. You can restore archive packages, but they aren't intended for teaching the course again as all user interactions are restored as well.
What happens to an archived class? It's placed in a separate area to preserve the class materials, student work, and posts. You won't see it with your active classes on the Classes page. You and your students can view an archived class. To use the class again, you have to restore it.
