You do not need to complete the entire Barbri Bar Review in order to pass the Bar Exam, in fact, most people do not complete the course. The vast majority of substantive information will be covered within the first 75% of the course, therefore, in order to be well prepared you should aim to complete at least 70-75%.
You just need it high enough to pass. The national average on simulated tests right now is normally about 55-56% correct, but if you are in the 45-53% range, you can still make up the points. An 80% first time taker pass rate means you only need a higher score than 20% of people, not 50%.

The Barbri invented questions are harder than the real MBE questions. (Real MBE questions are still difficult though.) The Barbri MBE compares you to how others score on the Barbri simulated MBE.
Depending on your bar exam state, the bar exam pass rate is typically between 60% and 80%. That means that 20-40% of people who sit for that bar exam do not pass. As you watch your percentile rank, your goal is to be approximately in the 30th-40th percentile or higher in each subject as you progress in your studies.
Barbri provides much better essay materials. The book of essays and examples is great. Themis graded more essays, but I didn't feel like I had as many outlines to review and learn. If you don't feel like you are a good technical writer, Barbri's materials are decent.
The MBE isn't getting harder, but the MBE is often the hardest part of the bar exam for many students.
You want to aim for a scaled score of at least 140-145 (which is the average score). Ideally, you should want a 150+ scaled score to have confidence to pass the exam. The national average MBE scaled score for the last few exams was: 132.6 6 in Feb. 2022; 140.4 7 in July 2021; 134.0 8 in Feb.
So, do the math: 115/190 = 60.52%. That is the approximate percentage of questions that you need to answer correctly to “pass” the MBE in a state that requires a 133 as a passing MBE score. KEY: RAW SCORE: This means the number correct (out of 190 scored questions) to pass.
