Having survived the destruction of the Dawn, Master Chief and Cortana search for a way off of the mysterious Forerunner planet. Requiem is the third campaign level of Halo 4, and the second one with actual gameplay.
Halo 4: The Essential Visual Guide and the shield world's in-game appearance in Halo 4 seem to indicate that Requiem has only one entry portal, referred to as the "maw corridor" in the visual guide. Despite this, the Halo 4 terminals and Halo: Silentium portray Requiem as having a number of access corridors.

You can interact with this to hear about the Covenant 's three-year visit to Requiem . The uber weapon, the SAW, can be found across a makeshift bridge in a section of ship with a rotating warning light. This is just past the Covenant Audio Signal noted above, and directly below the Forward Unto Dawn's engines.
Perhaps the largest chunk of purple Covenant ship, right near the starting location, can be climbed from the rear side. At the top is a terminal you can access.
One large, burning chunk of ship to the right of the start (follow the crater wall to the right) has an audio log from Dr. Halsey in it that you can listen to. This chunk of ship is marked FFG-201.
There is a very helpful Sniper Rifle high atop a chunk of burning wreckage marked FFG-201. This is the same hunk of ship the Halsey log is in. You can walk up a ramp on the side of the wreckage to reach the pinnacle. where you will find an ammo crate and the Sniper Rifle.
Just below the Forward Unto Dawn 's massive engines is a purple platform with a monitor on it that Cortana mentions. You can interact with this to hear about the Covenant 's three-year visit to Requiem .

Requiem is designated as "43121124" by the holographic terminal displaying the Dawn' s predicted drift course. Requiem being pulled into its star was originally suggested as a joke by Frank O'Connor during a brainstorming session on the ending of the first season of Spartan Ops.
In his vision, Requiem was to serve as a core of a new era of prosperity and power to the Forerunners through the defeat of the Flood and the subjugation of all their enemies. To this end, the Didact used the Composer to convert his loyal Warrior-Servants into powerful robotic Knights.

After many complications, both fireteams reached their objective and the Infinity was able to flee the planet, seconds before Requiem was consumed by the sun, which went supernova immediately afterward due to a total failure of local plasma shell maintenance systems as well as Requiem's containment measures.
The UNSC Infinity returned to Requiem in early 2558, resulting in a protracted battle between the UNSC and the occupying Promethean-Jul's Covenant alliance. Requiem itself was destroyed at the conclusion of this campaign by Jul 'Mdama.

The innermost miniature Dyson shell housed the core of Requiem, which was where the Didact's Cryptum was situated. The platform which housed the Cryptum was suspended in the very center of the sphere and was protected by a shield emitted by two adjacent pylons located on opposing sides on the surface of the inner sphere.
The Prometheans and 'Mdama's Covenant continued to occupy Requiem, which humanity recognized as a site of great value due to the abundance of Forerunner artifacts contained therein, particularly a digital personality impression of the Librarian encountered by the Master Chief during the initial foray on the shield world.
Additionally, the UNSC gained vital intelligence on Requiem's portal system and was able to control it before Crimson destroyed a device at "the Refuge" that allowed the portals to open in order to limit the movement of 'Mdama's Covenant and Prometheans.
On Requiem, 'Mdama's Covenant and Promethean forces attacked UNSC research bases " the Refuge " and Magma Base, but both of these attacks were successfully repelled by Fireteam Crimson with the assistance of Fireteam Shadow in "the Refuge," resulting in the destruction of another cruiser.
As Requiem got closer to its sun, the planet began experiencing frequent earthquakes from the gravitational disturbance created by the sun causing the shield world to begin shaking itself apart.
Having been interrupted in their mission to deactivate the portals at " Apex " and capture the site by the attack on the Infinity, Fireteam Crimson were sent back to "Apex" to complete their original mission and secure the area. Crimson succeeded in closing the portals and Infinity sent Fireteam Lancer to hold "Apex.".
Halsey found out that the artifact was communicating with the ship's system's, notably the engine, and transmitting signal to a location in Requiem. On Requiem, Sangheili terrorist Parg Vol, an associate of 'Mdama, was hunted and eventually assassinated by Fireteam Crimson.
The Requiem Campaign , also known as the Second Battle of Requiem or the Requiem Conflict, was the second, larger-scale engagement fought on the Forerunner shield world Requiem in February 2558. It was waged between the Prometheans and their Jul 'Mdama's Covenant religious followers and the returning United Nations Space Command .
Cortana's line from the opening cutscene, "Don't make a girl a promise you can't keep", is a reference to a line she first said in Halo 2: "Don't make a girl a promise if you know you can't keep it.". In the Halo 3 level Cortana, the Master Chief keeps the promise he made to her.
Cortana: "The Cartographer keeps acting like the transmission is coming from everywhere on the planet at once. It doesn't want to triangulate Infinity 's signal.". Requiem's hologram flickers red again, and all of the red circles disappear. Instead, a red sphere appears in the center of the hologram.
Cortana's line regarding the level's terminal is not used after the first playthrough unless all Halo 4 is removed from the Xbox 360 's system cache. The terminals on this and all subsequent levels are likewise absent from subsequent playthroughs.
