Given the historic role of the Brethren Church and the Judeo-Christian heritage at Ashland University, it is expected that many core religion courses will have Christian themes and Biblical content. Composition courses demonstrate a fundamental commitment to the writing process consistent with the objectives and outcomes as Composition I and Composition II courses offered in the English department, and for which there will be a portfolio assessment process.
Art 352 ART IF THE RENAISSANCE. Prerequisite: None. This course focuses on the painting and sculpture of Italy from ca. 1400 to 1580 and covers the activity of artists like Masaccio, Mantegna,Donatello, Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Giorgione and Titian.
Core courses in communication focus on understanding the transactional nature of oral communication in its relation to audiences of one or many. Some group and several short speeches are usually part of the course.
Historical Reasoning courses embody the application of rational inquiry to past events or periods. Courses usually employ primary sources to examine and attempt to account for change and persistence in human events over time, not in one particular sphere of life but in human life more generally across a variety of disciplines.
Core Humanities courses involve the application of uniquely literary and interpretive modes of inquiry with regard to the study of written and spoken languages, literatures, and to the traditions of interpretation, theory and criticism of religious, philosophical, and textual ideas.
Social Science courses focus on the study of how people live, both as individuals and as members of society. Such courses might study humans as individuals, as members of various groups, as participating in and shaped by various institutions, or as members of society as a whole.

Auditing Coursework. Any regularly enrolled student in the University may audit a course. Other persons who do not wish to receive college credit and who do not meet admission requirements may also register as auditors upon payment of the audit fee and any special class fees (e.g. lab or music fees).
Final grades are reported at the close of each term (available on WebAdvisor) and become a part of the student's permanent record. These grades determine academic status, i.e., “good standing,” “probation” or “dismissal.”
A candidate for a baccalaureate degree must have completed all the course and proficiency requirements for that particular degree and must earn not less than 120 semester hours (60 hours for associate degree) of college work with a grade point average of not less than 2.0.
Prerequisites: MBA 500H Quantitative and Statistical Methods or equivalent. The study of concepts relating to the operations functions in both manufacturing and service organizations which is responsible for planning, organizing and controlling resources in order to efficiently and effectively produce goods and provide services and meet the goals of the organization. Quantitative tools of analysis used to support decision making in the various operations management activities will be surveyed, and case analysis will be employed to relate theory to practice.
Prerequisite: MBA 500E Marketing or equivalent. This course deals with proactive marketing topics, strategic market planning, interactive marketing, innovation and creativity, customer satisfaction and research, as well as the more traditional “4Ps” of marketing: product, place, price, and promotion. Attention is given to the development of conceptual and analytical thinking, oral and written communications, and interpersonal and team management skills.

The capstone course provides a semester-long integrated experience requiring the student to synthesize knowledge and skills acquired earlier in the MBA program.In addition to the above courses, a minimum of 3 additional courses must be completed as part of your specialization.
Financial planning and control for the financial and the non-financial executive, including decisions of investment, growth and expansion strategies, dividend policy and capital structure. Analysis of principles leading to decisions in the management of current assets, fixed assets, debt, equity, and capital.
This makes the selection of classes even more difficult. The last day to add classes is usually one week after classes begin . Housing is often a problem, because late arrivals will not have the best selection. The dormitories are usually full, and a late placement with a roommate could create problems.
