AlcoholEdu for College

Welcome to Manhattanville College! In an effort to further advance our students beyond the classroom, Manhattanville College has partnered with EverFi, whose mission is to help students address critical life skills such as alcohol misuse prevention and sexual assault prevention in higher education institutions across the country.

About the Course

AlcoholEdu for College is online alcohol education course offered to all first-year students at Manhattanville College. Alcohol Edu incorporates evidence-based methods to empower students to make well-informed decisions that will contribute to a safe campus environment for everyone. You'll find the course is interesting and gets you involved.

Getting Started

Step 1: On August 2 you will receive notification of Alcohol EDU assignment to your college email address.

Frequently Asked Questions

You will receive an email inviting you to take the program. It will come from Manhattanville College with the subject line “Online Courses Assigned to You by Manhattanville College”. This is the only way to access the program so be sure to check your Mville email regularly!

EverFi provides a website to assist parents in ensuring their students complete the AlcoholEdu requirements and establish healthy norms when they arrive on campus.

When do I complete this program?

Students are expected to complete Part One of this program anytime between July 13-27, 2021.

Why am I being asked to complete this program?

MIT is committed to fostering a healthy and safe environment that supports its educational mission.

How long will it take me to complete this program?

Part One of the program takes about 2 to 2 ½ hours to complete. It is highly recommended that you take it in multiple sittings. This section ends with an exam and survey. You must earn a grade of 80% or higher to pass the course. Part One must be finished by July 27.

What is the expectation for the successful completion of the program?

What information will be gathered?

The course may include surveys to help personalize your experience and measure students’ alcohol-related attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; the school will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students’ responses.

What are the technical requirements needed to complete the program? Is there technical support?

To complete the program, you will need Internet access and audio capabilities. If you do not have ready access to a computer, use a computer at a local library, copy center, or community center.

How to contact USC AlcoholEdu?

If you experience problems with MyUSC, contact USC Information Technology Services at consult@usc.edu or at (213) 740-5555. The USC AlcoholEdu ® team is unable to provide technical support for the course.

How long does it take for a hold to be removed from a course?

Holds are automatically removed within 30 minutes of your completion of Part 2. If you still have a hold after 1 hour (60 minutes), send an email with your student ID, along with a screenshot of your course completion and a screenshot of the registration hold to alcedu@usc.edu.

Is the AlcoholEdu survey confidential?

The AlcoholEdu ® course will include surveys about your personal health behaviors to help personalize your experience and measure students’ alcohol-related attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; USC will only receive information about the student body as a whole and never your individual answers as a student.
