There are no laws that currently prohibit you from going scuba diving without a certification. This does not mean that you should try and do it. Scuba diving can be very dangerous and without the proper training, it can often be fatal for those who try and do it. So, get certified.

Re: Scuba diving without PADI certification? Yep all of them. You can do a discover scuba diving course which will give you the basic training on how everything works then you will go out on a couple of dives with a Dive Master.

Instructor Training Course (ITC) NAUI values and respects the knowledge, skills and abilities of its instructors. As such, NAUI Instructors are authorized and can be approved to teach every level of diving in which they possess the training, knowledge and experience.
Prerequisites For Entering The Course 1 Minimum age is 18 years by the water phase of the course. 2 Current certification as a NAUI Assistant Instructor or NAUI Divemaster or other agency leaders. 3 Current certification as a NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver or the equivalent 4 Current certification as a NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver or the equivalent 5 Current certification as a NAUI Nitrox Diver or the equivalent 6 Current certification as a NAUI Master Scuba Diver or the equivalent 7 Current certification in NAUI First Aid for the Diving Professional or equivalent. 8 A minimum of 60 logged open water scuba dives with a minimum of 30 hours bottom time. Obviously, once you have your NAUI Leadership and Instruction book and standards and policies (S&P) manual, you'll be able to answer quite a few questions yourself (or at least, *I* did ). In the meantime, let's see what I can say...
Be sure to know your Master diver material and also your Rescue material. Would be a great idea to reread both books. Good luck and dig deep.
